St Alberts School is a brand new school in a woodland setting in Hemel Hempstead. As part of its commercial landscaping portfolio, the Garden Company’s commission included: writing the ecological management report, designing the landscape and garden areas and implementing the works. The scheme involved creating habitats to increase the bio-diversity, looking after existing wildlife and turning an overgrown woodland into a managed usable space. Outdoor classrooms, a natural pond, wildlife meadow and vegetable growing beds were included for the children to promote interactive learning.
