We had wanted to transform our garden for several years but had found it difficult to put our ideas together in a coherent way and also lacked the detailed plant knowledge. James was able to create a design that linked the house, the enlarged terrace and the garden together perfectly. We are delighted at how the garden has matured and how its character changes with the seasons.

We wanted to work with The Garden Company as we were impressed by their attention to detail and wealth of experience in building larger gardens. We have got to know James and his team over the years and know that we enjoy working with people who have similar outlook and work aesthetic as us. Nothing we specify is too much – the company has a vast list of craftspeople to hand for anything bespoke and we feel very confident that they understand our intention.  The walled garden was built during some extreme weather conditions, and faced a few challenges throughout the build, but The Garden Company was professional throughout and delivered a beautiful garden for us that the clients are delighted with.

From a designer’s perspective, I choose The Garden Company when I have a project that is multi-faceted, as I know they have the depth of experience and knowledge to realise my designs, and an unrivalled finish. I have worked with them for a long time and built up a strong trust that the project will be built on time and on budget, to my exacting standards. The best thing about collaborating with The Garden Company is working with James and his team, knowing the result will be excellent.

As soon as we moved into our new home, we prioritised creating a family garden.  We wanted to establish the garden straightaway so that we could make the most of family time with our children – dining outside, relaxing and entertaining other family and friends. Working with The Garden Company has been a positive experience throughout.

James and the team really listened to us and how we wanted to use our garden. We are delighted with the finished result and even though the planting is less than a year old it looks amazingly mature.  The colour palette used in the borders is stunning. We would definitely work with James and his team again on future projects.

Our garden looks stunning in every season – whether it be the swaying grasses with crystals of frost, the early colours which bring the anticipation of spring, the magnificent blooms of summer and the flowers that just keep on flowering while leaves are turning crimson and rusty in the autumn. James really understood what we were looking for in a garden – my favourite spots being the kitchen and vegetable gardens, the “island” for the perfect sun-downer and the terrace where we eat (the produce from our garden) looking out over the meadow. It is a haven not only for us – but also for a multitude of bees, insects and butterflies. You can’t help but smile and feel happy wherever you are in the garden. When we set out on the journey we never anticipated having an award winning garden – but it is a credit to James and his team and we are simply the lucky ones who reap the benefit of it.
