The Garden Company based in Chipperfield is having a double celebration this Christmas after scooping two top national awards for its work. The awards were presented last Friday at the BALI Awards ceremony at The Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane by television personalities David Domoney & Clive Anderson. James Scott, Managing Director of The Garden Company said ‘We were hopeful of getting one award but getting two just made the day. We won the principal national award for domestic gardens costing between £20,000 & 50,000 and a national award for domestic gardens costing between £100,000 & 250,000’.
The principal award was for a garden designed and constructed by The Garden Company in Kings Langley. The garden is a wildlife haven with a stream running through a wildflower meadow. The water course leads to a contemporary garden building which overlooks the garden. Greg Allen from the adjudication panel said ‘This level of success can only be achieved by a company with exceptional levels of technical skill and plant knowledge. An exemplary scheme beautifully executed’
The national award was for a large garden in Coleshill near Amersham. The scheme included two small lakes linked by a natural stone waterfall, leading to a dry creek. Of the scheme the judge said ‘An inspired dry stream bed has been skilfully created by the company to a point of perfection’
‘It has been a privilege to be involved with both of these projects. We have a good track record of winning awards and it is a further accolade to the efforts of all our staff to be honoured in this way’ James added.
The Garden Company is based at Wyevale Garden Centre in Chipperfield.
